The year 2020 has been an interesting one, to say the least. But one thing that has remained constant is the legacy of Archie Mason Griffin. Griffin is the only player in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy twice, and his accomplishments are still remembered and celebrated today.

Archie Mason Griffin was born on August 21, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a standout athlete at Eastmoor High School, where he was a three-sport star in football, basketball, and track. He was heavily recruited by several colleges, but ultimately chose to stay close to home and attend The Ohio State University.

At Ohio State, Griffin was a star from the start. He was the starting running back for the Buckeyes from 1972-1975, and during that time he rushed for 5,589 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was a two-time All-American and was named the Big Ten Player of the Year in 1974 and 1975.

But it was his 1975 season that cemented his legacy. Griffin led the Buckeyes to an undefeated season and a national championship, and he was awarded the Heisman Trophy for the second time in his career. He became the only player in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy twice, and his accomplishments are still remembered and celebrated today.

Griffin was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft. He played seven seasons in the NFL, and while he was never able to replicate his college success, he was still an effective running back. He finished his career with 4,872 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns.

Archie Mason Griffin is one of the greatest college football players of all time. His accomplishments are still remembered and celebrated today, and he will always be remembered as the only player in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy twice.
