All Dallan coil punching and laser cutting systems have a compact footprint and are very similar.

  1. Decoiler
    The decoiler stores the raw material used by the system. Depending on product type, material thickness, and batch size, the machine can run for hours or even days after loading a single coil.
    When producing parts that require the same coil thickness and width, the Dallan coil processing system is designed to process different products one after the other, eliminating machine downtime and frame scrap.
    The decoiler can have single or double spindle coils. A double spindle spool allows a new spool to be loaded on one side while the other continues yielding material. Depending on production volume requirements, a coil carriage can also be fitted to speed up changes.
  2. Straightening
    The material wound on a coil acquires curvature that must be corrected before the material is fed into the machine. The Dalcos RD straightener removes this curling of the ring thanks to the action of a set of staggered rollers in 2 levels that bring the material to a plastic state when it can be straightened.
    Low-quality materials sometimes require the correction of different curvatures, such as curvature, bowing, or wave of the edges. In these cases, a leveling machine is necessary, a device with a more significant number of smaller diameter rollers. This machine is more expensive than a simple straightener and is only required in a limited number of practical cases.
  3. Numerically controlled feeder
    The feeder controls position X of the coil inside the machine. Dallan manufactures different types of feeders, each with a specific application.
    Dallan VEGA numerically controlled clamp feeder is used for thin materials from 0.3mm to 3mm thickness. It uses two moving clamps connected to a recirculating ball screw driven by a brushless motor. This system remains accurate even when the material is moved back and forth several times and is especially recommended for fragile and delicate fabrics.
    The Dallan AR Speed ​​numerically controlled roller feeder features two opposing rollers that push the material forward as they rotate.
    It is a very fast-feeding system suitable for manufacturing long products that require little machining from materials with a thickness between 0.6mm and 3mm.
    Finally, the Dallan ERGO feeder with a built-in straightener is a roll feeder with a built-in straightener at the entrance with six rolls staggered in 2 levels. It is a particularly suitable system for processing materials up to 4mm in diameter.
  4. Cutting, drilling, and slotting area
    This area includes the coil punching machine or the laser coil cutting system, which cuts and engraves the products. Each Dalcos cutting system has features that make it suitable for different applications, offering customized performance and flexibility.

Common to all Dalcos cutting technologies is that the net processing time is the actual processing time, as loading and unloading time is zeroed out. This is one factor that makes Dalcos coil-fed production technology the fastest on the market.

  1. Unloading systems
    Dallan coil processing systems can be integrated into production lines or used as standalone machines. In the first case, Dallan’s punching machines and laser systems are in line with roll-forming machines, bending machines, and manual or robotic folding/bending machines.

As standalone machines, Dallan systems are integrated into various stacking systems.
The product is often allowed to fall into containers as it exits the machine, from where it is picked up without much precision.
The most popular unloading system is the trapdoor unloading table, which consists of two inclined surfaces that cause the product to fall and, at the same time, direct it to the center.
A height-adjustable hydraulic table underneath receives the pieces and gradually lowers as the stack grows. The table can also be mobilized for cross-movement to stack narrow, long products side by side.

Dallan’s side-discharge Smartbatch system is used for larger panels and is also excellent for products that require a lot of processing and for sheets for producing inlay products. When several products of different shapes need to be taken from a coil, robotic unloading and palletizing systems connected to programming software are used.
